You are not the average of the five people you spend the most time with.

A personal trainer who spends time with five fat clients doesn’t become fat.

Einstein at a mental institution doesn’t become deranged.

Mother Theresa on Alcatraz doesn’t become a serial killer.

The five people you spend the most time with are a lagging indicator of who you are, not a leading indicator.

You can change who you spend time with but it doesn’t change you. The decision to change these five. this changes you.

Choose your friends wisely, but don’t mistake this choice for becoming wise.
